Homebuilder Certifications 

Graduate Master Builder™ (GMB)

The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder designation is for experienced, veteran homebuilders. There are only 1,200 professional home builders nationwide to attain a Graduate Master Builder certification. The Graduate Master Builder courses require in-depth instruction geared for experienced building professionals. It’s a significant time commitment, but graduates gain a complete knowledge of all facets of the homebuilding industry, build a new network of peers across the country, and inform their potential clients of their commitment to the best of homebuilding, customer service and advanced construction techniques. Green Built Texas™ (GBT)

Since its introduction in 2006, Green Built Texas (GBT) has quickly become one of the nation’s most successful green building programs, winning National Green Building Program of the Year honors from NAHB. Green Built Texas is committed to increasing the awareness, education and value necessary for builders and remodelers to construct high-performance, healthy structures that exceed building code requirements. The program achieves these goals by establishing standards that benefit homeowners, the citizens of Texas, and the environment we all share. 

Certified Green Professional™ (CGP)

This national designation recognizes builders, and other industry professionals who incorporate green and sustainable building principles into homes — without driving up the cost of construction. Green Building Professional coursework is closely aligned with the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard. It includes chapters on energy, water and resource efficiency, indoor environmental quality, lot and site development and homeowner education and is the core curriculum for the required Certified Green Professional classes. There are nearly 3,000 active CGPs in the United States working in all aspects of the high-performance home building. 

Certified Graduate Builder™ (CGB)

Experienced builders can be even better with the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) educational designation. Homebuilder’s sharpen their business management skills and better understand today's homebuilding industry. CGB courses focus on effective management in the office and on the job site, examine all stages of new home construction and cover topics such as scheduling, estimating, job cost procedures, accounting principles and basic contract law. Homebuilders who seek the CGB certification are dedicated to their craft and growing their business – and that is evident by their commitment to continuing education.
